Al Hicks, Ph.D., FAAA, Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Al Hicks received his Doctorate from the University of Washington in 1978 and was an assistant professor of Audiology at Portland State University from 1976-1983. As co-founder of Audiology Clinic, Inc., Dr. Hicks specializes in forensic audiology with emphasis on legal consultation for hearing loss claims, as well as the fitting of hearing instruments with Bluetooth technology. He practices with integrity, excellence and in partnership with patients to create individual treatment plans designed to meet their specific hearing needs

He is a member and past president of Washington Audiology Alliance, an organization of private audiology practitioners in the state of Washington, and a member of the American Academy of Audiology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and Washington Speech and Hearing Association. Dr. Hicks has been a member of the Portland Downtown Lions Club since 1979 and serves on the Lions Hearing Conservation Committee of Clark County, assisting in the selection and provision of hearing aids for low income individuals.

Dr. Hicks applies his knowledge of acoustics by running the sound board for his church community. When he's not tinkering and fixing things, Dr. Hicks can be found touring on his motorcycle.


Nancy Bowen, M.S., FAAA, CCC-A, Clinical Audiologist

Nancy Bowen, M.S. attended Michigan State University and subsequently received her Master of Science degree in Audiology from Portland State University in 1982. As co-founder of Audiology Clinic, Inc. she splits her time between diagnostic audiologic evaluations, hearing instrument fittings and clinic administration. Specializing in infant and pediatric hearing assessment, Nancy employs innovative techniques with a twist of fun to elicit test results on even the most difficult-to-test children. She has also been providing audiology services to the Washington State School for the Blind since 1986.

Nancy serves as a consulting audiologist for the Washington State Department of Health's Early Hearing Detection and Diagnosis Committee, and instituted the Newborn Hearing Screening Program at Peacehealth Southwest Medical Center. She is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Washington Audiology Alliance and Washington Speech and Hearing Association. She is a member of the Columbia Crest Lions Club and is a recipient of the Melvin Jones Fellowship Award, the highest form of recognition from Lions International embodying humanitarian ideas.

Nancy has volunteered as front gate manager for the Vancouver Wine and Jazz Festival since 1997, supporting the nonprofit Bravo! Vancouver Concert Series. She enjoys yoga, choir singing, and attending concerts and plays.

Amit Gosalia, Au.D., FAAA, Doctor of Audiology

Dr. Amit Gosalia graduated with his Master of Science degree in Communication Disorders (Audiology) in 2002 from Arizona State University and his Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D) in 2006 from A.T. Still University. He began his career as an audiologist at Arizona Audiology & Hearing Associates and was an adjunct professor at the Arizona School of Health Sciences, where he taught Au.D students advanced amplification selection and counseling techniques. He joined Audiology Clinic, Inc. in 2008 with the intent of providing the best possible hearing healthcare and hearing instrument technology to his patients.

Dr. Gosalia is Board Certified by the American Board of Audiology, is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and served 10 years on the meeting committee of the American Auditory Society. He was Chair of the Political Action Committee for Audiology in Arizona for 3 years and was one of only two recipients of the Audiology Foundation of America Professional Leadership Award in 2006.

Dr. Gosalia was born in New York and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. When he is not in the clinic, you might find him with his wife and daughter, on the golf course, at a local community event or watching football or basketball at a local venue.
